Bid Board
WHAT IS A BID BOARD? IT'S LIKE A SILENT AUCTION
- All items are affixed to a special "Bid Board Card"
and then posted on a large bulletin board in The Stamp
Center for a scheduled time period, generally four weeks
- During this period, anyone registered with a bidder
number may place bids
- Bids may be entered as often as desired up until the
cutoff time
- Whoever the highest at the cut-off is the winning bidder!
WHAT ARE THE RULES FOR CONSIGNING MATERIAL?
- You must be 18 or older
- All items must be accurately described and affixed on a
Bid Board card in a manner that allows easy inspection
- Catalog values are most helpful (indicate year, also
source if not Scott)
- Reasonable reserves are suggested
- A seller's fee of 12% (minimum 45c) is charged for all
lots sold (no fee for unsold lots)
- Unsold lots will be placed in a "Last Chance" box for
about 60 days and then, if still unsold, will be held for
pickup by the consignor
- Settlement is made at each Bid Board closing for lots
sold and paid for from the previous Bid Board. Proceeds
for the lots sold and paid for along with unsold
items are held for consignor pickup
- A consignor may make arrangements for proceeds and
unsold lots to be shipped subject to shipping expenses
- The Stamp Center reserves the right to refuse any lot
or limit the number of lots from any one consignor (items
of poor quality, incorrectly described or with unrealistic
reserves will be returned or go directly to the Last Change
box)
- All material is fully insured for the reserve amount,
but any claims for lost or damaged items must be made
within one year of date of consignment and supported by a
receipt
WHAT ARE THE RULES FOR BIDDING?
- To participate as a bidder requires advance
registration and issuance of a bidder number
(individuals under 18 must be registered by an adult)
- All items are consignor graded and consignor
described, therefore, PLEASE INSPECT before you bid as
ALL LOTS are sold "AS IS" with NO returns!
- The buyer pays 15% commission over the selling price
- Lots must be picked up and paid for within 30 days
- A bidder may make arrangements for lots to be shipped,
subject to shipping expenses and a $1.50 handling fee
- Telephone and mail bids ARE NOT PERMITTED
